Back Pain: Symptoms, Causes & 14 Effective Home Remedies That Work

Back Pain - A Common Problem That Should Not Be Ignored

Back pain is one of the most common health complaints today. Whether you sit for long hours, lift heavy weights, or have a poor diet and posture, your back suffers first. If not cared for, occasional back pain can turn into chronic spondylosis.

Let's understand its symptoms, causes, and some traditional home remedies that have been used for relief.
Symptoms of Back Pain

The pain pattern can vary from person to person:Pain is usually felt in the middle of the back or lower back [lumbar region]
Pain may be felt on both sides of the waist and around the hip region
In acute cases, the person finds it difficult to move, stand, or bend forward
Stiffness in the back, especially in the morning
Many back pain patients also have associated cervical spondylosis [neck pain and stiffness] and lumbar spondylosis

What is Spondylosis? In spondylosis, the vertebrae lose flexibility due to wear and tear, bony outgrowths, or adhesion. The spine becomes stiff and less flexible. In advanced cases, mobility becomes very restricted.
Main Causes of Back PainMuscular strain and joint stress from lifting incorrectly or over-exertion
Poor posture - sitting, standing, or sleeping in the wrong position
Lack of exercise - weak back muscles cannot support the spine properly
Poor diet and nutritional deficiency
Other health conditions - In women, conditions like leucorrhoea, and in both men and women, kidney issues or prostate issues can refer pain to the back
Cold exposure - Cold is known to aggravate back pain
