Home remedies for prostate problems

Men entering midlife commonly experience an enlarged prostate, which can restrict the flow of urine from the bladder and lead to such problems as frequent urination, urine leakage and urinary tract infections.
The prostate is a small, muscular gland (in the shape of a walnut) in the male reproductive system. It surrounds the urethra just below the urinary bladder and adds fluid to semen to allow sperm mobility.
It's a sad fact of growing older for the male species. Most men over the age of 60 (and some in their 50s) develop some symptoms of prostate problems. The three most common disorders are benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), a noncancerous enlargement of the prostate; prostatitis, an inflammatory infection; and prostate cancer. BPH is so common that some physicians consider it a normal consequence of aging in males. With age, the cells of the gland begin to multiply, leading to an enlarged prostate. Although the exact cause is unknown, changes in male sex hormones with age may be a factor.
To treat an enlarged prostate, some people use herbs, from flaxseed to stinging nettle to prickly pear cactus. At typical doses, experts say that these plant extracts are probably safe for BPH, or benign prostatic hyperplasia.
Treatment of prostatitis includes a variety of practices that incorporate daily supplements and natural remedies. One of the most widely used holistic cures is cayenne pepper, which is reported to alleviate the symptoms of a swollen prostate quickly. Cayenne is also widely used in the treatment of prostate cancer
.The prostate's main role is to produce an essential portion of the seminal fluid that carries sperm. This walnut-shaped gland located just below a man's bladder starts to kick in near puberty and continues to grow and grow. This enlargement doesn't usually cause symptoms until after age 40, and it usually doesn't cause problems until age 60 or later.
An inflamed or swollen prostate is known as prostatitis; it is common for the prostate gland to become enlarged as a man ages. The medical term for this condition is benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), or benign prostatic hypertrophy, and as cells increase they form large nodules that can compress the urethra, obstructing the flow of urine and causing pain. The prostate gland doesn't usually cause problems until later in life - it rarely causes symptoms before age 40. However, more than 50% of men in their sixties and as many as 90% in their seventies and eighties have some symptoms of an enlarged prostate.
Some of the symptoms of BPH are a frequent urge to urinate, increased frequency of urination at night, trouble starting a stream of urine, a weak urine stream, continued dribbling of urine, and a feeling of incomplete bladder emptying.

If left untreated, an enlarged prostate can block the flow of urine out of the bladder, leading to other complications like urinary retention, UTIs, bladder stones, and kidney damage.
An enlarged prostate is problematic because it presses on the urethra, creating difficulties with urination and weakening the bladder. Some of the symptoms of prostate problems include:
difficulty urinating
frequent urination, especially at night
difficulty starting urination
an inability to empty the bladder
a dribble of urine despite the urgent need to urinate
a burning sensation when urinating
uncontrolled dribbling after urination
pain behind the scrotum
painful ejaculation
*Here are some natural remedies for men to treat an enlarged prostate:
Limit beverages in the evening. Don't drink anything for an hour or two before bedtime to avoid middle-of-the-night trips to the toilet.
Limit decongestants or antihistamines. These drugs tighten the band of muscles around the urethra that control urine flow, making it harder to urinate.
Go when you first feel the urge. Waiting too long might overstretch the bladder muscle and cause damage.
Eat pumpkin seeds. The crunchy snacks contain protective compounds called phytosterols, which may be responsible for shrinking the prostate, according to Prevention. They also contain chemicals that may be beneficial for prostate health.

*Make and drink watermelon tea, a beverage the Amish use to flush out the system, according to AgingFit. Enjoy a slice of watermelon and spit the seeds into a cup. When you have one-eighth of a cup of watermelon seeds, put them in a one-pint jar and fill it with boiling water. Let the tea cool, strain it and drink it. Drink one pint of tea every day for 10 days
.

Kegel Exercises

Kegel or pelvic-strengthening exercises can help ease some of the discomforts of enlarged prostate as they help tighten and clench specific pelvic muscles to help control urination.Empty your bladder and lie on the floor with your knees bent and apart. Tighten your pelvic floor muscles for 5 seconds, then relax them for 5 seconds. Repeat 10 to 20 times, 3 or 4 times each day. Pelvic floor muscles are the muscles you use to stop your urine flow.
*Another option is to squeeze the muscles in your anus, then relax your pelvic floor muscles. Do it 10 to 20 times, a few times a day.Regularly perform kegel exercises throughout the day. You can do them after waking up in the morning, at lunchtime, in the evening and before going to bed. Target your pelvic muscles only and avoid tightening the muscles in your stomach, buttocks or thighs. If you are having difficulty locating the pelvic muscles, get help from an expert.

*Prepare a drink made using silk from corn, a remedy Amish men have used for generations. AgingFit suggests, when fresh corn is in season, cut the silk from six ears of corn. Put them in one quart of water, boil it, simmer for 10 minutes, then strain it and drink. Drink three cups a week.
*Learn to eat and enjoy soy foods. Soy-based foods contain phytoestrogens, which are thought to help reduce testosterone production, which is believed to aggravate prostate cancer growth, . The phytoestrogens are thought to limit the growth of blood capillaries that form around tumors of the prostate
Capsules containing garlic extract can be used to treat various conditions, including an enlarged prostate, according to MensHealthReview.org. However, keep in mind that garlic may cause bad breath, heartburn, gas, nausea and diarrhea.
*Schedule bathroom visits. Try to urinate at regular times — such as every four to six hours during the day to "retrain" the bladder. This can be especially useful if you have severe frequency and urgency.
*Keep warm. Colder temperatures can cause urine retention and increase the urgency to urinate.
Organic flaxseed oil 60  ml and organic low fat cottage cheese 250 ml  will get rid of the cancer.

Alpha blockers.

These medications relax bladder neck muscles and muscle fibers in the prostate, making urination easier. Alpha blockers — which include alfuzosin (Uroxatral), doxazosin (Cardura), tamsulosin (Flomax), and silodosin (Rapaflo) — usually work quickly in men with relatively small prostates. Side effects might include dizziness and a harmless condition in which semen goes back into the bladder instead of out the tip of the penis (retrograde ejaculation).
Tadalafil (Cialis). Studies suggest this medication, which is often used to treat erectile dysfunction, can also treat prostate enlargement. However, this medication is not routinely used for BPH and is generally prescribed only to men who also experience erectile dysfunction.

Herbal medicines have proved to be most effective in increasing prostate gland. Even a patient who has been indwelling with a catheter for a long time, gets free of the catheter and starts urinating naturally. It is a panacea for other disorders of the prostate gland (burning urine, dripping urine drop by drop, frequent urination at night, tearing urine). There is no chance of cancer.
